Teachers

After each student learning course one of our facilitators can be available to run a one hour after-school seminar for teaching staff for no charge. This seminar is to introduce teachers to the learning skills we have taught the students and to show them ways they can reinforce the resilience building approach in the classroom. There is no limit on numbers for this session   [Contact Lance King for further information]

This one-day (5 - 6 hour) course will show all teachers how to help their students develop into resilient learners.

On this course teachers will learn solid, practical, research based teaching and learning techniques to use in the classroom to help their students to develop more resilience, gain more understanding from their subjects, retain that information and improve their academic success:

Course content includes:
- how to tap into the full potential of every child’s brain and mind
- how to teach children to be self-motivating and goal seeking
- developing challenge seeking and task acceptance behaviours
- engaging the application of effort
- teaching the process of learning from failure
- developing the flexibility of intelligence
- making sure subject delivery helps develop the flexibility of learning style
- teaching strategies to enhance memory and the retention of content
- the use of student evaluation to improve teaching practice.   [Contact Lance King for further information]

Parents

The other main strand of this programme involves the parents of your students. Research shows clearly that one of the most important determinants of student success at school is parental involvement but many parents don't know how to get involved effectively. To help with this (for any school that books courses on consecutive days) we are available to run a free ninety minute seminar for parents in the evening following a student course. This evening seminar is not just for the parents of students enrolled in our courses but is for any school parents and will show them how they can support their children's learning at home and help them achieve greater success at school.   [Contact Lance King for further information]
